Yes, i know what you're talking about Rob--i had a ``make includes'' fail
because i didn't have texinfo, and this did seem perverse.

That said, this texinfo thing is probably the simplest build hangup i've
encountered.  ex. an Alpha build between two versions of -current a month
apart grew extremely _weird_ (no build failure, but broken binaries).

i started over with an old snapshot and loosely followed the
1.2-to-current procedure in greywolf's posting of 1999-03-11 (copy
available).  this worked.

when you're building the build tools, i see no maintainable foolproof
solution to this. this is supposed to be part of the fun!
