I am pleased to announce the branching of NetBSD 1.4.

The branch version has now been set to 1.4_ALPHA, per the release
schedule. ALPHA will last for approximately two weeks.

For those tracking -current via SUP, you will automatically share and
enjoy in the NetBSD 1.4 experience. The SUP server has been switched
to the branch, and the SUP scan that occurs overnight tonight at 0400
Pacific Standard Time (approximately 12:00UTC) will contain the 1.4
branch sources.

Please test these sources intensively over the coming weeks. The
quality of 1.4 depends on your help, as alpha and beta testers, during 
the release process.
