It just happened to me too. I was upgrading from 8.2. sources to 19.2.
sources. I saved my libc.so.12.38 from the 8.2. build.

xemacs dumps core with libc build with 19.2. sources, but still works
with libc.so.12.28 build with 8.2. sources.

I am on i386 too. So its not the version bump, but something
between 8.2. and 19.2. broke it.

Whish I would know what it is though :(
