They have.  They're doing Alpha, and I think they did Sparc.

What FreeBSD and OpenBSD and linux all have is a visible single
leader who:

	(1) gets the project out in visible ways,
	(2) gets projects for pay for people to do,
	(3) has a personality.

I also don't think NetBSD has much of a chance without someone taking
the PR lead and getting NetBSD to be more widely known.  It is very
embarassing to see "works on FreeBSD and linux, and probably OpenBSD"
but NO mention of NetBSD.
