A really big thing keeping people from using NetBSD is lack of SMP
support (I know this has been beaten to death in user requests, but it is
a real problem). I don't particularly like FreeBSD, but I'm forced to use
it because I need SMP support for a project I'm doing. So I'm having to
explain to my boss why I can't use the product I've been telling him is
the best there is. I'm not the only person who's fallen into this
situation. It makes the question a little bigger.

I wouldn't mind this if it were done in a useful way, there's one
for FreeBSD around here (Silicon Valley), and it's pretty safe to assume
that there's at least one for Linux.
