So the INSTALL file for NetBSD/i386 1.3.x which states:

Supported devices include:
        SCSI host adapters:
                Adaptec AHA-2x4x[U][W] cards and some onboard PCI designs
                        using the AIC78X0 chip.

is wrong? 7890 matches 78X0 and you say that aic789X is not supported
by NetBSD, which contradict each other.
