Sorry, I don't have a pointer handy.
It's radio communication in the 2.4 GHz band.  The range is
supposed to be the size of a room (I think it's 10 meters).
It uses frequency hopping (you've got to use some kind of
spread spectrum in the 2.4GHz band) so many devices can be in
the same place.  From what I hear they have considered the
security aspects.  E.g. when your headset talks to your mobile
phone in your pocket via Bluetooth you don't want others to
eavesdrop.  There will be single chip Bluetooth implementations
with very low cost ($5?) and very low power consumption.
Bluetooth is developed by a consortium: Ericsson, Intel, Toshiba,
and many others.  The specs are supposed to become public
any day now.
