I would be absolutely horrified if the BSD/os authentication stuff
were incorporated into NetBSD.   I had the misfortune of having to
hack it at one point, and was amazed at the byzantine complexity that
BSDI had introduced.   Flexibility is all very well and good, but in
order for it to actually be useful, it has to be possible for a
reasonable person to be able to use it.   I don't think the BSD/os
authentication has that quality.
