I damaged my NetBSD on my notebook by trying to create a suspend partition.
  I then used Havard's 1.3H install disk. It says:

pcic1 at isa0 port 0x3e2-0x3e3 iomem 0xd4000-0xd7fff: using irq 10
panic: pcic_attach: attach found no sockets

  My second pcmcia controller has the HD disk plugged into it...
