I just installed the 1.3H snapshot --
ftp://ftp.NetBSD.org/pub/NetBSD/arch/i386/snap-19981105/NetBSD-1.3H/i386/
on an Intel Endeavour motherboard. Under 1.3F, the ATAPI CD on this
machine configured as:
wdc0 at isa0 port 0x1f0-0x1f7 irq 14
atapibus0 at wdc0
cd0 at atapibus0 drive 0: <CD-ROM CDU76E, , 1.0g> type 5 cdrom removable
and it worked, albeit with noisy audio.
but on the 1.3H snapshot, the CD is not found at all.
I've tried booting with a data CD in the drive, an audio CD, and (I
think) no CD. i know this beast needs some kind of quirk (it doesnt
report media size or something; (Manuel fixed it for an earlier
version of the ATAPI code) but I dont recall what it is.
i dunno if its relevant, but this smachine has a [sic] triton-II:
pchb0: Intel 82437FX System Controller (TSC) (rev. 0x01)
pcib0 at pci0 dev 7 function 0
pcib0: Intel 82371FB PCI-to-ISA Bridge (PIIX) (rev. 0x02)
Intel 82371FB IDE controller (PIIX) (IDE mass storage, interface 0x80, revision 0x02) at pci0 dev 7 function 1 not configured
which is commented out in -current, so (I guess) the IDE bridge is
being configured as an ISA device.
Can anyone help with this, or at least advise what kind of
debugging to turn on to figure out the right quirks?
