A vaguely functioning version of the kernel/system config utility that I
promised ages ago is now available from:

It's nowhere near finished either functionally or bugwise, but it's got to
the stage that people can look at the general principle that I have in
mind.  If you want to take a look, please read the notes on the web page
and in the README, first.
