Have there been any changes in the kernel that would cause me to have
to update my /sbin/init and/or /bin/sh?
I just tested booted a kernel from mid-October, and got a series of
messages about PID 1 getting signal 12. (SIGSYS)
I was then unable to start /bin/sh.
My /sbin/init is likely 1.3.2's, and I'll rebuild it, but I'd rather be
running a newer kernel first...
