At 1010 bytes, this is obviously a shell script.

Just out of curiosity, what shell was this written for (head -1 it)?  I
don't have my SunOS CD to check.

I'm wondering if it's trying to do emul prefixing on the shell at the top of
this file.  Could you do a "ktrace -i" on the SunOS make to see the events
surrounding running /bin/arch?
