While such comments are certainly annoying at times, they are merely a
drop in a river of sludge. What you don't see is the private email
and the online conversations (primarily on ICB).
For example, you didn't see the discussion that ensued several months
ago, when we were talking about pressing CDs. I was repeatedly
insulted, called `clueless', my experience questioned, yadda yadda --
because people disagreed with my cost estimate. They then went off on
their own CD project, which failed to materialize. And it turns out
we spent *more* than I estimated, not less.
It's crap like that that makes it perpetually difficult and
frustrating to get anything done. There are many things I'd like to
do for the project which I simply can't do, because it means I will
have to put up with a tremendous amount of abuse.
(And BTW, anyone who still thinks I hadn't pressed CDs before should
turn over the jewel case of their October 1992 FSF CD -- the first one
ever produced, and shortly thereafter the FSF's primary source of
income -- and look at the name in the corner.)
