The newer egcs toolchain in NetBSD-current will include g77 once the
toolchain is updated.  Also, you should be able to compile the egcs
snapshots yourself (egcs 1.0.x is _not_ Alpha friendly).  See:

(A "cross compiler" for 1.3, that could be used as a native g77 for alpha,
wil be available soonish as well.)

I don't suggest trying to use gcc 2.7.2 + g77 on alpha - you're going to run
into some big LP64 problems.
