Just tried to build libslang (i386):

/usr/pkg/bin/libtool cc -o ./calc libslang.la -ltermcap ./calc.o  -L.
-lslang -l
m -ltermcap
libtool: link: `-L.' cannot specify a relative directory
*** Error code 1
