 The non-exportable version contains a encrypt() routine. passwd(1) does
crypt(3) the challenge and verify it with the entry in your passwd-file.

 Also, some kerberos stuff is missing.

 Having the exportable version of NetBSD does in now way mean you have
a security hole. You are simply lacking of a few features and library
calls.
