No, it clearly prints out "--fast-read" when I ask for "--help".


do you happen to have /bin/tar linked to /bin/pax ?


i thought i removed the --fast-read option from the pkg tools?  might
be a local change only -- i'm using pax as tar/cpio locally.  pax does
this by default.  only tar seems to continue to read the archive after
it has found all the members listed... lame.
