I'm in process of moving the GNU makefiles to a new system where target
names are pulled from a "remap table" in <bsd.own.mk>. This will allow a
bunch of hacks (mainly for arm32) that remap target names to be removed. In
short:

If you are going to build anything in `gnu', update your .mk files first!

Failure to do so can result in unusable binaries of `as', `gdb', among
others.
