Subject: 1.3 Boot hangs until keypress during ifconfig of "de0"

A few of our machines have Kingston Ethernet PCI cards which probe as
"de0". Occasionally during the ifconfig, we get:

de0: abnormal interrupt: receive process stopped

and it hangs at that point until I press return on the (serial)

Any ideas?
