Barring last minute problems which might slightly delay it, the 1.3
branch cut has been scheduled for later today. For the next six weeks,
until the release on December 1, -current will point at the branch,
and not at the head of the CVS tree as it usually does.

Assuming the cut occurs as scheduled (and it is expected to), ALPHA
snapshots for all ports should begin to appear within a day or
two. The ALPHA period should last for about two weeks, to be followed
by the BETA period, and then the final release.
