Subject: top's increasing memory appetite...?

Hi, all.

I generally keep a copy of top (top-3.5beta5.tar.gz, with the NetBSD 1.3
patches) running, and I've been noticing lately that it seems to consume a
good bit more memory than it should.

Here's how it sees itself:

PID USERNAME PRI NICE SIZE RES STATE TIME WCPU CPU COMMAND
 9122 mason 36 4 1120K 396K run 52:48 1.22% 1.22% top

If I stop the process and relaunch it, it says the following about itself:

PID USERNAME PRI NICE SIZE RES STATE TIME WCPU CPU COMMAND
20743 mason 36 4 212K 592K run 0:02 6.87% 5.62% top

I'm just curious as to why it's consuming so much memory after a while.

Has anyone else seen this? Is this something I should report, or is this...
um... expected behaviour?

Later...
