A lot of really good and interesting ideas have been presented.
What I think I'll do is integrate what I currently have. This leaves
what currently gets printed out as the default, and the option SCSIVERBOSE
when set will cause more information to get printed. I think it should
be up to the portmasters for each port to decide whether the GENERIC
or INSTALL kernels should have this on.
At any rate, what I'll put in is a lot of gruntwork entered tables, so
if someone wants to take the same stuff and make an LKM or the beginnings
of a userland tool, great! Insofar as sharing the same source with
userland, doesn't the ifmedia stuff have the same issue?
