Attempts to boot recent snapshots of NetBSD-current/i386
fail due to problems with apm. These are the last few
messages seen during bootup:

fd0 at fdc0 drive 0: 1.44MB 80 cyl, 2 head, 18 sec
isapnp0 at isa0 port 0x279: read port 0x203

The cursor is left blinking at the position of the underscore.

This is an IBM Avenger with dual PPro processors (anxiously awaiting SMP).

Maybe the apm support should not be active in the default kernel?
Or is there an easier to fix this than loading 1.2 and compiling a kernel?
