Anyone noticed that a tape drive is more likely to eat a tape when you
want to restore than when you want to backup?

My 2G DAT drive committed suicide yesterday - when the tape
_eventually_ came out - part of the drive came with it :-)

So I'm in the market for a 4G DAT drive (must be able to read my old
backups).

Recommendations?
