I have DEC disks in my production system, DSP 5350's. They run a bit hot,
but otherwise OK.

It has been my experience that most SCSI drives have a jumper for:

1. spin up on power-on, or
2. wait for spin-up command.

You might want to try and get the docs for the drive you have from
Quantum's web site (they ate DEC's storage division), and see if you can't
set the drive jumper for power-on spin-up.

Nonetheless, this is a case that the MI SCSI code should handle; file a
problem report with "send-pr" so that it doesn't get lost.
