The version in NetBSD appears to be completely broken.

I think that there is a working (debugged) version of BSD-LFS for BSD/OS; 
I've tried to convince the author of BSD-LFS to do a NetBSD port, but she
hasn't gotten around to it yet. I'm not sure if the changes/fixes for BSDI
are publically available; you might send mail to margo@eecs.harvard.edu to
find out.
