I tried this and it still error, but the suggestion from Mike Long and 
Jason Thorpe worked.  

# cd src/domestic/usr.bin/compile_et
# make depend && make && make install
# cd ../make_cmds
# make depend && make && make install

diff was the && make in the middle.
