Emacs doesn't append spaces to the ends of lines.  Spaces at the ends
of lines are just as hard to see in vi as in emacs.

The person you're flaming (not me - whew) has done a hell of a lot
more for the NetBSD project in the past week than you have.   A little
courtesy wouldn't hurt you.
