current-users: what does it mean from 1.2B to -current

Hello,

I saw message about change from 1.2 Beta to -current for the couple of days. I
simply don't know what its mean.  I constantly update my system by make build
from the surce of ftp.netbsd.org. I would like to know the change from 1.2 beta
to -current.  if uname -a, will it show NetBSD ...... current .....
