Okay, I guess I'm gonna finally have to break down and get one.
I suppose now that (cheap) 8x drives are < US $100 it is okay ;)
I intend to avoid any drive in the quirks table...
any other suggestions?

In particular, if anyone knows their SCSI CD-ROM drive behaves
properly, or improperly, I'd really appreciate that info.
