What would cause /bin/mail to not let me edit messages? On my most -current
box, mail does:
>~v
/tmp/Re010223: Permission denied
Fatal error in process.

It does this even to *root*. Why? How? I can't see how I could create
a file I can't read. Unless the mode is wrong...
It looks like 0600. Hmm.

p.s.: My problem with mail not locking mailboxes was that /var/mail was
not writable by me. I'm not sure it should be, but 1777 fixed it.
