I'm trying to install via FTP or NFS on a new PC (Compaq Deskpro Pentium)
but have trouble configuring ep0.

I have a 3C509B-TPO card (and no other cards).
During boot i get:
ep0 at isa0 port 0x300-0x30f irq 10: 3Com 3C509 Ethernet
ep0: aui/bnc/utp
ep0: erase pencil mark, or disable plug-n-play mode!

When i try ifconfig I get:
# ifconfig ep0 100.150.61.14 netmask 0xffffff00
ifconfig: SIOCGIFFLAGS: Device not configured

How do I erase the pencil mark, or disable plug-n-play mode?
My 3C-card has no jumpers!
