I just wanted to let everyone know I found the problem with my multi-user
boot messages disapearing. It seems that /bin/stty got hosed in one of the
crashes, so the "stty status '^T'" command hosed the tty in the begining
of /etc/rc.

When I put in a new /bin/stty, everything worked!
