Since when doesn't Samba (which is one of the best (and about the only
free) implementations of the SMB protocol) run on NetBSD? We've been
using it (and depending on it) in a production environment for about a
year and a half.

Now, you can't mount an SMB file system on a NetBSD box, but that isn't
the most common use of SMB anyway; it's more commonly used so that all
those dweebs running Win95 can mount their Unix home directories.
