Having had lots of experience with kernel profiling in SysVr3.2, I sure
wish it or something similar was available for NetBSD.
I've been too busy lately to get bonnie and lmbench run in the proper
environments on these machines, but hopefully in the next week....
I suppose I should try compiling lmbench with the same compiler in both
environments too (and also run the SunOS binary under NetBSD), but
that'll delay me somewhat further as I don't have a GCC on this SunOS.

Interesting indeed. I have these numbers from a 32 MB P133 with a PCI
NCR 53c810 SCSI controller on a QUANTUM XP34301 drive with about a 1GB
filesystem that has been heavily used:

I think the near steady increase in read rates after the drop at 2MB is
very weird too.
