Sounds like a wonderful reason for NetBSD to decouple VGA support from 
the console driver (err, keyboard driver :-).  Chris Demeriou did this in 
the Alpha port, and has a separate "PCI VGA" driver.  It doesn't look 
like it completely supports mmap, et al, yet, though...
