Well, I can't say that I've *tried* to break it.  I always try to make
sure the system is as idle as possible when I do it.  That way, there
is very little to no disk activity while I have termination removed
for a few seconds.  On the other hand, I have the feeling that there
has been a little diddling on the disk at least once or twice while I
had termination removed.  But I have never done it while heavy disk
activity was in progress.  For what it's worth...
