Well, I didn't think it was public domain.  Most of the BSD code I've 
seen is definitely copyrighted, though freely redistributable.  :-)

The copyright status is what you see at the top of each file.  Given 
that, I don't see any reason why you can't make a nice C library for 
SunOS out of NetBSD's.
