Hello!

I was just about to write all relevant databases into a little mail for
you I just noticed that my slip hostname entry in /etc/hosts at the
machine that behaves normal has a full qualified name in the alias field:

129.13.1.27     di_frueauf.ira.uka.de   di_frueauf      # Slip Hostname

so I changed the field on cybersil (the problem machine) from:

192.168.0.2     cybersil			# HP 9000/400 Apollo

into:

192.168.0.2     cybersil.ira.uka.de cybersil    # HP 9000/400 Apollo

and guess what? The problem is gone! *sigh*
