I just thought I'd take this chance to follow up on my
sendmail problems. IMHO, it's a shame that netbsd's sendmail is not
at all configured for UUCP.

That said, I got sendmail 8.7.3 and compiled it in hopes of
fixing everything. It didn't. However, in reading a readme there, I
found that gcc versions <2.6 are totally broken for compiling sendmail
on the sparc platform. Luckily, I have 2.7.3 installed locally. This
fixed a good portion of the bad behavior of sendmail.

I'm still left scratching my head why sendmail -bv accepts
hugh@kink with the correct routing but sending mail from emacs does
not... but I'm hoping to work that out this evening.

Dave.
