If it's because a message is scrolling up your screen (the same message
on each line) including the words "VBLK" and "dirty", boot the machine
into single-user mode and then run "fsck -f /dev/{s,w}d0a". If that's
not it, then perhaps more details of what exactly is happening would be
helpful...
