I have noticed that running certain programs on the i386 port changes the
serial port settings to 7E1 from 8N1.  The only way to return to 8-bit
mode is to log out and log back in.  stty command doesn't help.

Other people have seen the same problem, so it really _is_ there.  I see
the same problem on both 1.0 and -current of August '95.

The problem is _not_ present on the Amiga port, using exactly the same
software as on the i386 port.

Any solutions available?  The problem is more than annoying. :-(((
