Actually, the "smart set of defaults" I'm talking about was not implemented
in SVR4; it would be a trivial extension (you create /etc/defaults.n, and
then have the start script know this.).

The runlevels rule; you could have separate config info for multiuser vs.
networked mode.  Cool!
