D'oh.   The problem is not in libcurses, it's in libterm.   Sorry for
the confusion.   The libterm build blew up on me in a big way recently
because of the curses.h issue, which is why I submitted a pr on it a
while ago, and why I happen to have noticed this recent discussion on
the subject.
