I've not tried them, but i have looked at them.
ISA DMA is going to change _significantly_ at some point in the
future, mostly because the way things currently are done _completely_
breaks on the Alpha. (In a nutshell: the Alpha uses virtual-ish DMA
from ISA devices...)
One of the things that is going to happen when the new interface is
implemented is that somebody (maybe even me! 8-) will implement bounce
buffers for ISA DMA on the i386.
