The problems people noted with recent i386 kernels `hanging' during
autoconfig should be fixed now.  If you're impatient, you can just
add:

#define ICU_HARDWARE_MASK

to the top of sys/arch/i386/isa/vector.s.

I think I will go shoot the person who suggested that optimization.
