netbsd/sparc doesn't `insist' on sunos disklabels.  i've labeled
a disk on my sparc with a netbsd label and used it Just Fine.  it's
the prom that gets unhappy.  ie, you only need sunos disklabels on
netbsd/sparc for the boot disk (i haven't tried this myself, but pk
said it was true, and i believe him).

i can't comment on port-i386  :-)
