I'm not sure if it's the same one, but a friend of mine wrote a library
that could read either a termcap database or a terminfo database and be
used as a replacement for the system-v routines of the same name.

I believe it was posted to one of the comp.sources groups long ago.

I would greatly appreciate the inclusion of ncurses, esp. without a
termcap database (;-), in NetBSD, as that's one of the porting jobs I
will end up doing for my own use anyway....
