I 'cp' /usr and /var to a new HD and now all the ownership and permission 
are screwed up.. any way to changed them back?  so far I've noticed that 
xterm and talk don't work right.. 

talk keeps saying other user is not accepting messages, but their mesg = 
Y and xterm gives: setegid(0): Operation not permitted
